Rachel Leary

I am a theater technician, designer, and stage manager in the DC area. After growing up figure skating competitively with Capital Theater on Ice and Team Ashburn Synchronized Skating, I started doing theater tech in high school as hair and makeup crew and run crew, then branched out into construction, set design, and eventually stage management. I’ve stage managed two full productions at George Mason University, and I stage managed 2024 Capital Fringe Best of Fest winner Wannabe: the Remix by J.J Johnson. I have worked in the GMU Scene Shop as one of the Props Interns, and I served as the Assistant Stage Manager for GMU School of Music’s Opera, 27. I recently finished my first summer working as a carpenter and painter at Interlochen Arts Camp in Michigan. I have experience in virtually every area of theater, but Stage Management, Set Design, and Props have stuck with me the most. I’ve also recently branched out into the film world, working as a Producer and Co-Props Designer on a feature-length film called The Belated Show: The Opening Act.
